Organic Electronics

1. Organic Thin Film Transistor(OTFTs)

Organic semiconductor materials are attracting attention
as next generation electronic devices due to their various advantages such as flexibility, light weight and low process cost.

Since the charge mobility and stability are inferior to those of inorganic silicon semiconductors, improving properties of Organic Thin Film Transistors is necessary.

We are interested in improving charge transfer characteristics and controlling the performance of organic thin film transistors by pre / post treatment, blending system and coating methods.

2. Organic Photovoltaics(OPVs)

In recent years, renewable energy is emerging as a solution to the rapid increase of fossil fuel consumption.

Among them, organic solar cells have shown remarkable growth, and they have low cost, short energy payback time and low production cost compared to inorganic solar cells.

However, in order to be used as a main energy source, it is essential to increase photoelectric conversion efficiency.

In our lab, energy level control of molecules, surface morphology control and phase separation are studied to realize high performance organic solar cell.

3. Sensors

As the air pollution becomes worse, there is a growing need for a gas sensor capable of detecting harmful gases to the human body and detecting toxic gas leaks.

Gas sensors based on inorganic materials are difficult to commercialize because of their high cost and rigidity, but it is possible to manufacture inexpensive and flexible gas by using organic materials.

We can detect various types of gas using different electrical characteristics. Our concern is to manufacture gas sensor with ultra high sensitivity and fast responsivity.
